A solid 9 carat gold fob pendant in a bell-shape form with applied beaded collar, set with a polished black onyx base dated 1916. Onyx has been widely used since the 19th-century in men’s jewellery and was valued for its durability and restrained appearance, associated with constancy, seriousness and, remembrance.

Originally intended for use on a gentleman’s watch chain, the fob now also lends itself to be worn as a pendant,  layered or in a charm cluster. 

Condition: The gold is a warm rose tone and the fob is fully hallmarked to the rim. It retains good surface detail and shows only light wear consistent with age.
