A Victorian mourning locket crafted in gilt metal. The front is beautifully decorated with rich cobalt blue enamel and ornate gilt scrollwork, centred with the inscription “In Memory Of” - a classic sentiment of the period.
The reverse opens to reveal a glazed compartment containing a rose, with space beneath for a treasured memento or photograph. The case is framed with decorative repoussé detailing and suspended from a later chain.
