A Victorian 9ct gold fob pendant, set to one side with a large faceted amethyst-coloured stone and engraved to the reverse with an anchor amid dense foliate decoration.
The anchor was one of the clearest Victorian emblems of hope, constancy and safe return, frequently used in sentimental jewellery. Paired with the deep purple stone, the piece has a particularly rich, slightly ecclesiastical feel.
Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear. There is a small old silver-toned repair / solder reinforcement to the reverse near the anchor, visible in the photographs. Not particularly visible in real-life. Tests for 9ct gold, the stone is untested.
2.5cm x 1.5cm
Supplied on a 45cm 14ct gold-filled chain
