Late 19th Century
A beautifully engraved working Victorian heart-shaped padlock dating to the late 1800s, richly detailed with scrolling foliate work and set with a deep wine cabochon.
Measuring 3.5cm in length, this is a substantial and striking example - originally created as a bracelet clasp, now perfect worn as a pendant. This opens and clicks firmly into place.
The gilt finish retains a warm antique glow, with gentle age-related wear. The central cabochon adds depth and contrast against the ornate gold-toned ground.
A striking love token - dramatic enough to wear alone, yet equally beautiful layered with antique chains. A rare and evocative piece of 19th century jewellery.
Chain included.
