A particularly elegant Georgian mourning ring dated 1812, centred with a woven hairwork panel beneath a domed glazed cover.

The oval head is framed by a border of faceted black stones in closed-back settings, continuing into a matching shank. The reverse bears a full engraved dedication:

“John Randerson Obit 17th March 1812 Aged 64”

A classic and highly collectable early 19th century example, combining personal inscription with traditional materials and form.

Faceted black stone surround - untested but either Onyx or black glass.
