Victorian Rock Crystal Heart on Chased Split Ring

£265.00

A 19th-century rock crystal heart pendant, hand-faceted from natural colourless quartz and measuring 18mm in height. The crystal displays the subtle internal veiling and soft lustre characteristic of true rock crystal, with gentle facet irregularities consistent with 19th-century cutting.

Rock crystal was prized for its clarity and purity, believed to hold emotion and intention, making heart-shaped crystals especially meaningful in sentimental jewellery.

The heart is suspended from a chased gilt metal split ring (10mm), designed to accommodate additional charms, allowing the necklace to grow and evolve over time.

Presented on a fine 45cm 14ct gold-filled chain of a later date.

Details:

Stone: Natural rock crystal (quartz)

Heart size: 18mm

Split ring: Chased gilt metal, 10mm

Period: 19th century

Condition: Very good antique condition, with light age-related wear. The bale is a later replacement.
