Architectural openwork 9ct gold mount suspending a rotating citrine spinner cut with broad hand-faceted edges. Originally worn as a watch fob or chain accessory, now converted to a pendant on fine gold-filled chain.
Early 20th century, circa 1900-1915.
The spinner format emerged in the late Victorian and Edwardian period as pocket watch chains became increasingly elaborate. The restrained geometric mount and warm citrine are characteristic of the transition between late Victorian ornament and the cleaner lines of the Edwardian period.
Condition - Minor wear consistent with age. One small inclusion/abrasion visible to the edge of the stone. Presents very well.
Size - 2.8cm x 3cm including base.
Presented in a 45cm 14ct gold-filled chain.
