A beautiful circa 1880 Victorian locket in 9ct gold, front and back (gilt metal hinge and interior framework), with ornate hand-engraved florals characteristic of late-19th-century jewellery. Inside, the piece reveals a rare double-glazed compartment - at either side are two compartments for photographs (unglazed). 

Condition: The locket opens smoothly on both outer sides and closes firmly. The inner glass is clear and intact. The interior is base metal with age commensurate patina. Please examine the pictures as they form part of the description.
